Jason Strobel is responsible for planning and directing all food preparation and culinary activities, creating new menu items, recruiting and supervising kitchen staff, and managing all equipment and food supply purchases and repairs for Balter Beerworks. Strobel previously worked as head chef at Shuck Raw Bar, and he’s been an active member of the downtown Knoxville community for the last 10 years.
Will Rutemeyer is responsible for the entire brewery operation at Balter Beerworks, including leading the brewing team, managing all supplies and equipment, and producing fresh, handcrafted beer on-site. Rutemeyer has more than nine years of home brewing experience as well as time spent as a brewer with Carolina Brewery. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a degree in Biosystems Engineering.
Mark Chilcoat is responsible for developing, marketing and providing high-quality service to customers, as well as overseeing and managing the Balter Beerworks staff and operations. Chilcoat was previously a manager at Lakeside Tavern in Knoxville and also served as a manager at Gordon Biersch Brewing Company in Chattanooga at all three locations. He is a graduate of Powell High School and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
